Throughout the year, Disney Cruise Line VoluntEARS take time out from sailing aboard the ships to bring the world famous Disney characters and a host of smiles to deserving children in local schools, hospitals and care facilities across the ports we call home.

The visits are part of a longstanding tradition of bringing the magic of Disney into the heart of port communities to support deserving children with activities and donations of small gifts.  But the children are not the only ones gaining from the VoluntEARS’ efforts.  They are also a special treat for the shipboard crew.

“I will always remember taking the characters to ports in my home country of Mexico, where many of the children had never experienced Disney before,” said Erika Solano, Disney Magic Entertainment Manager.  “It was amazing getting to see their faces light up the first time they saw Mickey Mouse.  It meant so much to be giving back so near to my home.”

Since 1998, these visits have impacted more than 15,000 children in ports across the Caribbean, Bahamas, Mexico and the Mediterranean, bringing smiles to the faces of both children and the Disney VoluntEARS.
