Partnering with the Foundation for Hospital Art, an organization dedicated to the healing power of art, Disney Cruise Line crew members donate their free time to creating unique pieces of Disney character art for donation to hospitals and care facilities in Disney Cruise Line ports of call.
Since being introduced to the ships in 2005, the program has quickly become a popular opportunity for crew members to give back while onboard.
“Hospital Art is one of my favorite volunteer projects,” said Nicola Gill, Senior Costume Technician onboard the Disney Wonder. “It’s amazing to think that something we painted on the ship is bringing a smile to a child in a hospital miles away.”
To date, shipboard crew members have donated more than 600 hours to create and deliver 27 different murals across the world. The program continues to be a key focus for Disney VoluntEARS, supporting the ongoing care and development of children in our ports of call.
